Wes Roberts
There is a Fabulous positive that came along with my challenging ALS diagnosis. The Love and Support of Family and Friends has been so amazing and heart touching. Phone calls, text, face time, zoom, letters, cards and personal visits have warmed my heart and given me strength to carry on and totally offsets the negativity of ALS. Thank You to everyone who has shared their love and the hundreds of Yambaily’s along the way. Love You All, YAMBAILY, Wes

I remember the first time that we met with Wes & Daniel and my Tom knew right away that Wes had ALS. He recognized it because he came home from Utah to take care of his own father who was diagnosed with ALS. He immediately was choked up because it brought back so many memories. Tom was an amazing man, he took care of his dying father. We had also moved in with his mom after she had a stroke and then was diagnosed with cancer to take care of her so she would not have to go to a nursing home. Tom also had Prostate cancer and he beat that, with problems of course. Then 9-1/2 years later came Covid, both Tom and I were hospitalized and very sick. Tom fought the fight but Covid won! I lost my soul mate to Covid…Yambaily Tom FOREVER!
Thank you Daniel & the Roberts for being so awesome! (and Shawna)

My story of love actually begins when I got to know the Roberts family. I grew up in a family that rarely showed affection and we never told each other that we loved each other. That all changed when I met Kitty Roberts. She was always the first one with a hug. Then around 2015 I had been on oxygen for almost 10 years I got on list for a double lung transplant. On Oct.13th 2016 I was lucky enough to get the call that saved my life. after life flight ride from Devils Lake North Dakota to Minneapolis Minnesota two of my good buddies West Roberts and Steph Keller were waiting at the hospital for me in preparation for my operation. The next day my brother also flew in. For the next five days I was pretty much kept in a coma and sedated but when I did wake up there was Wes and my brother every time. How lucky was I that Wes moved to Minneapolis Saint Paul after living in Alaska for 20 years. After spending a month in the hospital I had to spend another two months in Minneapolis doing rehab. Almost daily either Wes or Steph Keller or my brother or my daughter Jade were there to take care of me. I consider myself the luckiest guy in the world Thank you to everybody who helped me along the way. I know personally I couldn’t of done it without your support and without Roberts family.. if you need to be anything these days, be kind. Yambaily and FU ALS

Well, I’m a bit late sending this message but I was very touched when Daniel presented me with a Yambaily t-shirt a couple weeks ago. He also shared the story of Yambaily. I send all of my best to Wes and the Roberts clan. Now, I just need to know how to purchase more Yambaily t-shirts.

It has been one year since we lost our beloved friend, cousin, husband and father, Wes. I still miss him so much that I choke up when talking about him.
But, over the 4th of July weekend, Steph, Daniel, Ryan, A.M. and her boyfriend Derek, came to visit Marcia, me and our family in Galveston Texas. Every time I’m around Wes’ kids I am so impressed with them. You can see his smile, sense of humor, toughness and beautiful heart coming through all of them. His positive impact continues to live on. Our kids, Tyler and Ally, have become much closer with “the other Roberts kids.” Even my 3 year old granddaughter, Harper, had a blast with them, especially Ryan, “he has blue eyes like me”
I’m not sure the loss of Wes has gotten any easier for Steph and the family, but family time sure has become even more important. Thanks for coming to Galveston.
Miss ya Cuz! YAMBAILY
