The Story Behind Yambaily
We Roberts are a Hockey Family. Back in Alaska when our 3 kids were younger and Stephanie and I dropped them at the rink for practice or a game, I had a standard send off. “Get in there and Kick Ass and Take Names and enjoy the Greatest Game on God’s Earth”. I would finish up with a Hug and “You Are My Buddy And I Love You”. As they approached middle school, hugs in front of the Arena and using the L word were shelved. Thankfully, It occurred to me that You Are My Buddy And I Love You created a catchy Acronym.
We have all made a commitment to our Family Slogan in the form of YAMBAILY Tattoo’s on our forearms. Along with that, our YAMBAILY T shirts have been a big hit. Not long ago we played a Family Acoustic Gig at Tom Reid’s pub in St Paul and half the audience was wearing YAMBAILY T shirts. That warmed our Hearts and made the Gig more special. Feel free to adopt YAMBAILY into your world and you’ll find it creates a nice MOJO.
